About

Throughout his career as a cartoonist and editor, Art Spiegelman has never shied away from provocative storytelling in his comics. His legacy in the comic arts world continues to grow and has inspired many of today’s beloved cartoonists. Today, with book bans on the rise (Maus has been taken off shelves and curricula in Tennessee, Missouri, and Iowa) and freedom of expression threatened around the country, Spiegelman continues to be a champion of free speech and an eloquent speaker against the dangers of othering any marginalized group. Art Spiegelman: Disaster Is My Muse is a film for anyone who values the possibilities of art (particularly comics) to speak truth to power.
