About

In The Gonda Auditorium at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Theater

Arianne Neumark will share her father Zenon Neumark's experiences as a Jewish teenager in Nazi-occupied Europe. Zenon was born in Lodz, Poland in 1924. After escaping from a forced labor camp, he lived under a false Polish Catholic identity, first in Warsaw and later in Vienna. Zenon's story is one of betrayal by friends and rescue by strangers. During this time, he struggled to find a place to live, work, blending in with the local population, all the while being afraid of accidentally revealing his Jewish identity.

This program is included with Museum admission.
