Holocaust Survivor Talk: Phil Raucher
Phil Raucher was born in 1927 in Czeladz, Poland. In 1938, after violence inspired by Kristallnacht broke out in Czeladz, Phil and his brother were sent to stay with relatives in Wolbrom, Poland.

When war broke out in September 1939, Phil traveled back to Czeladz where he was soon confined to a ghetto. He was deported to Germany and spent the rest of the war laboring in subcamps of the Gross-Rosen complex. After liberation, he returned to Poland and reunited with his sister and uncle. They were smuggled out of Poland to Munich, and Phil settled in the United States in 1950.
