Jack Boul: A Conversation with the Artist
As Allied forces liberated Europe, the U.S. Signal Corps was charged with documenting the evidence of Nazi war crimes. Photographs of the atrocities at Buchenwald, Dachau, and Mauthausen taken by the U.S. Army circulated among the troops.

The graphic images of the camps affected Sgt. Jack Boul, a young American Jewish soldier stationed in Italy, inspiring his Holocaust monoprint series.
