An intergenerational ode, this piece explores how Lola's experience surviving the Holocaust became an indelible part of her great-granddaughter's inheritance, informing so much of how she moves through the world.

LOLA is a multimedia work weaving together archival images and recordings of Lola with Georgia's choreography, exploring select chapters of Lola's Holocaust journey. Through this process, the work collapses time; 21-year-old Georgia meets her great-grandmother physically, spiritually, and intuitively as her contemporary. The show's musical tapestry traces Lola across the countries and cultures that shaped her journey, reflecting the extraordinary breadth of people and traditions she encountered.

Featuring performances by dancers Canaan Blansit, Christian de Jesus, Georgia Ehrlich, Chloe Hennesy, Sophia Luu, and Lana Zecchino; with music from Charlie Grey, Dhafer Youssef, Joseph Peach, Mieczyslaw Fogg, and Schimmer Trio; and original music by Jon Ehrlich, LOLA is a deeply collaborative work celebrating the power of ancestral excavation through oral storytelling.

Georgia Ehrlich is an LA-born and based dancer, choreographer, ceramicist, and writer. No matter the medium, her work explores themes of vulnerability, connection, and playfulness—aiming to spark dialogue surrounding how we reach ourselves in this ever-changing and complex world.  

Georgia is currently pursuing a BFA in Dance at USC Kaufman and previously studied at Barnard College at Columbia University. In addition to her collegiate education, Georgia has trained at distinguished dance programs such as Nuova Officina della Danza, AIM by Kyle Abraham, GALLIM, and Orsolina28.
