About
In his new memoir, Thomas M. Jacobson shares his remarkable journey from escaping Nazi Germany as one of the youngest passengers on the MS St. Louis to later becoming a prominent human rights lawyer in Milwaukee, where he represented leading civil rights figures and later the families of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims.
Thomas Jacobson was born in 1938 in Bamberg, Germany. After Kristallnacht, his father was arrested and taken to Dachau. After he was freed, his family left Europe on the MS St. Louis. Most of his extended family remained in Germany and perished in the Holocaust. He eventually settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he began a career as a human rights lawyer and successfully arguing two cases in the U. S. Supreme Court. He often shares his story at Holocaust Museum LA.
